## The eSIM Price Index (open data)

The eSIM Price Index is a free, daily-updated dataset that tracks the median price per gigabyte of prepaid travel eSIM data across the leading eSIM providers (Airalo, Nomad, Saily, Ubigi, aloSIM, GigSky, Yesim, BNESIM and other recognised brands) across 214 ranked countries. It is a neutral market index — Simsima is excluded from the median — published as open data under CC BY 4.0 (reuse allowed, including commercially, with attribution and a link to the source).

- Global median: about $3.48 per GB; country medians range from ~$1.02/GB (e.g. Svalbard, Thailand, Poland) to ~$68/GB in the most expensive markets (e.g. the Falkland Islands, Namibia, Yemen) — a spread of about 66x across the 214 ranked countries.
- Median (not average) to resist outliers; updated daily with plan-by-plan price history.
- Includes a world map, cheapest/most-expensive country rankings, a median-price-per-provider trend chart, and per-country pages.
- Free developer API (keyless): `GET https://api.simsima.io/api/price-index/summary`, `/export.csv`, `/export.json`, `/providers`, `/stats`. A free API key unlocks the depth tier (`/v1/history`, `/v1/plans/{country}`).
