Getting online in Scotland
Scotland is covered by our United Kingdom eSIM, the same plan that works in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Install it at home and it connects when you land in Edinburgh. In the Highlands, the network your plan uses matters more than in the cities.

Your eSIM connects
As soon as your phone finds a local network. Set the eSIM as your data line and turn on data roaming for it.
Free airport Wi‑Fi

The plans on this page connect to these networks in the United Kingdom.
Three4G
EE5G
Unlimited plans run on Three.
On the North Coast 500, FarrPoint's 2022 survey found EE 4G on 89% of the route, against 51% for Three. Only some of our UK plans use EE: 1 GB, 3 GB, 5 GB, and 50 GB. For the Highlands, Skye and the NC500, pick one of these. Source, Apr 2022
Signal notes
- Isle of Skye
- In December 2024 EE flew in a new 4G mast by helicopter, covering parts of Glen Bernisdale and Skeabost and long stretches of the A850 and B885. EE says this brings its coverage to 98% of the island's population. Source, Dec 2024
- North Coast 500
- FarrPoint found more than 34 miles of the route with no 4G from any network, including 18 miles in a row along Loch Eriboll, and gaps at Applecross, Inverewe and Clachtoll Beach. It advises downloading maps before you set off. Source, Apr 2022
Along the way
The same plan follows you everywhere in the United Kingdom, day trips included.
