Getting online in Alaska
Alaska is a US state: if your phone plan is American, it already works here and you don't need a travel eSIM. Visiting from abroad? Alaska is covered by our United States eSIM. Install it at home and it connects when you land in Anchorage. In the national parks, signal is rare: in Denali it usually stops a few miles past the entrance, so download your maps before you go.

Your eSIM connects
As soon as your phone finds a local network. Set the eSIM as your data line and turn on data roaming for it.

Signal notes
- Seward and Kenai Fjords
- The park says cell coverage is very spotty, though a few spots may get a signal. On the coast, a marine VHF radio (channel 16) or a satellite phone may be the best way to reach the park or the Coast Guard. Source, Feb 2026
- Denali National Park
- The park service notes that heading west on the Denali Park Road, cell service usually doesn't extend beyond the first few miles. Source, Nov 2019
