Wi-Fi Calling on Your Home Number

Wi-Fi Calling lets you make and receive calls on your normal number over a Wi-Fi connection instead of the mobile network. Combined with a Simsima data plan, it is the cleanest way to stay reachable abroad without roaming charges.

It works through the ordinary phone app — no extra software, and the person calling you needs nothing special.

Enable It Before You Travel

iPhone: Settings > Cellular > your home plan > Wi-Fi Calling > turn on Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone.

Android: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > your home plan > Wi-Fi calling. On Samsung: Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi Calling.

Turn it on while you are still at home. Some carriers require the feature to be activated on their network first, and you cannot do that from abroad.

Then, Abroad

Keep your home line on but with data roaming turned off for it. It will register over Wi-Fi for calls while your Simsima eSIM carries all the data.

Not All Carriers Offer It

Wi-Fi Calling is a carrier feature, not a device feature. If the setting is missing, your operator does not support it — ask them before assuming your phone is at fault.
