eSIM Troubleshooting on iPad
iPad settings differ from iPhone, and two limits surprise people regularly.
Data only. iPad eSIMs carry data. There are no voice calls and no SMS, so a plan working correctly will still show no phone service.
Wi-Fi-only models have no eSIM. Only cellular iPad models support eSIM. Check Settings > General > About — if there is no Cellular Data section, the model cannot use an eSIM at all.

Removing an eSIM From an iPad
Settings > Cellular Data > select the plan > Remove Cellular Plan. Only do this for expired eSIMs — a removed profile cannot be reinstalled.
