Bought an eSIM for someone else? Or want to share installation details with a travel companion? Simsima makes it easy with shareable links.
How eSIM Sharing Works
When you purchase an eSIM, you can share the installation details with another person. This is useful when:
You buy eSIMs for your family or travel group
A colleague purchases eSIMs for the team
You want to help someone install their eSIM remotely
How to Share
From the Simsima App
1Go to My eSIMs
2Select the eSIM you want to share
3Tap the Share button
4A unique share link is generated
5Send the link via WhatsApp, email, text message, or any messaging app
From the Website
1Sign in to your account at simsima.io
2Go to My eSIMs
3Select the eSIM
4Click Share to generate a shareable link
5Copy and send the link
What the Recipient Gets
When someone opens your share link, they see:
The eSIM plan details (destination, data, validity)
Installation options: Smart Link, QR code, and manual codes
Step-by-step installation instructions for their device
Important Notes
One device only — An eSIM can only be installed on one device at a time. Sharing the link does not create a duplicate — it shares the same eSIM profile. See Reinstalling Your eSIM if you need to transfer it.
Install on the right device — The recipient should open the Smart Link directly on the phone where they want the eSIM installed
Limited reinstalls — Most eSIMs can be installed a limited number of times (2-3). Each installation from the shared link counts toward this limit.
Data is shared — The data allowance belongs to the eSIM profile, not to a specific person. Whoever has it installed uses the data.
Buying eSIMs for Others
If you regularly buy eSIMs for other people (family trips, corporate travel), we recommend:
1Purchase all eSIMs from your account
2Share each one with the right person via the share link
3Ask them to install before the trip while on Wi-Fi
4You can monitor data usage for all eSIMs from your account
Group Travel Tip
For group trips, consider using Trip Packs to purchase multiple plans at once, then share each eSIM with the corresponding traveler.
