Why your iPhone shows Activating or Activation Failure, and why it usually resolves on arrival.

eSIM Stuck on "Activating"

If your iPhone shows Activating or Activation Failure after installing your Simsima eSIM, the profile is almost always installed correctly. Activation finishes when you arrive at your destination and the eSIM connects to a local network for the first time.

Do not delete the eSIM. An eSIM can only be installed once. A deleted profile cannot be reinstalled, and you would have to contact us.

Confirm the eSIM Is Actually Installed

1Go to Settings > General > About

2Scroll down to the SIM section

3You should see an ICCID — a 20-digit number starting with 89

If the ICCID is there, installation succeeded. The Activating label is cosmetic until the eSIM sees a supported network.

What to Do on Arrival

1Turn Airplane Mode on, wait 10 seconds, turn it off

2Settings > Cellular > your Simsima plan > turn the line ON

3Enable Data Roaming for that line

4Set the Simsima line as your Cellular Data source

5Wait up to two minutes for the first network attachment

Before You Travel

Installing early is safe. Validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in its coverage area, never at installation.
