Roaming in Morocco costs extra on almost every UK network: Morocco is outside their Europe zones, and only Three Your Way Complete includes it (Sky VIP Diamond customers also roam free). EE charges £8 for a 24-hour Roaming Pass that unlocks your UK allowance, Vodafone adds £8 a day automatically, and O2 sells data Bolt Ons from £26 for 100MB to £65 for 1GB. Without a pass, data costs £5 per MB at Tesco Mobile and £7.20 on O2 Pay As You Go (as of 26 October 2026).
Key takeaways
- EE and O2 pay monthly block data until you buy a pass or Bolt On. Vodafone, and Three on plans from 18 December 2025, charge £8 a day as soon as you use your plan.
- Sky Mobile's Roaming Passport Plus is the cheapest way to keep your UK allowance: £2 a day, and it starts by itself.
- O2's Zone 3 Bolt Ons cost £65 for 1GB, and EE Pay As You Go add-ons for Morocco hold 110MB at most.
- iD Mobile's Roam Beyond add-ons hold the most data: up to 20GB for 10 days at £35.
Is Morocco included in UK roaming?
Almost never. Every UK network puts Morocco outside its Europe zone: EE in ROW Zone 2, O2 in Zone 3, Vodafone in Zone D and Three in Go Roam Around the World Extra. Only Three Your Way Complete includes it, and Sky VIP Diamond customers get Free Global Roaming there (as of 26 October 2026).

Roaming or eSIM: what will your trip cost?
It first asks whether your plan includes Morocco. Answer yes and it calculates nothing, only reminding you that your data allowance applies; answer not sure and it calculates as if Morocco weren't included. It takes the cheapest pass that covers your trip, adding more only where the network confirms you can buy them again (EE, O2 Bolt Ons, Three, Vodafone and VOXI Extras). Where the network doesn't say (EE Pay As You Go, iD Mobile, Lyca Mobile Pay Monthly), it counts one per period; where it limits purchases (Lyca Mobile Pay As You Go: five per add-on in any 30 days), no more than that. It tells you when that isn't enough data. With only a per-MB rate (O2 Pay As You Go, Tesco Mobile, SMARTY), it shows "More than £500" above that amount, and for Three Pay As You Go it stops at the £45 excluding VAT (£54 including VAT) limit.
What each network charges in Morocco
EE
EE puts Morocco in ROW Zone 2, which no EE plan includes; without a Roaming Pass, there's no data. The passes unlock your UK allowance: £8 for 24 hours, £40 for 7 days or £60 for 15 days. You can only buy one after you land, from the link EE texts you. Outside the UK, a 50GB fair use limit applies (as of 26 October 2026, EE price guide, EE plan terms, EE roaming costs).
EE Pay As You Go publishes no per-MB data rate for Morocco, only Zone C data add-ons: 8MB for one day at £5.22, 20MB for one day at £10.45, 45MB for 7 days at £26.12 and 110MB for 7 days at £52.25 (EE Pay As You Go price guide).
O2 and O2 Pay As You Go
O2 puts Morocco in Zone 3. It isn't an O2 Travel destination, and no O2 plan includes it. Without a Data Roaming Bolt On, O2 stops your data abroad and you pay nothing. Zone 3 Bolt Ons cost £26 for 100MB, £45 for 500MB and £65 for 1GB. Unused Bolt On data rolls over to the end of your next billing month (as of 26 October 2026, O2 Data Roaming Bolt Ons, O2 Travel).
Bolt Ons aren't available on O2 Pay As You Go, and data in Morocco costs £7.20 per MB. Keep data roaming off and use Wi-Fi (O2 roaming rates by destination).
Vodafone and Vodafone Pay as you go
Vodafone puts Morocco in Zone D, which no Vodafone plan includes. On each day you use your plan there, Vodafone adds £8 and you use your UK calls, texts and data. On plans that started before 11 August 2021, it's £6 a day. A 25GB roaming fair use limit applies per billing month, then data costs £3.84 per GB (as of 26 October 2026, Vodafone charges guide, Vodafone global roaming).
On Vodafone Pay as you go, Morocco is an Around the World destination, and data costs 12p per MB without an Extra. The 8-day Around the World Extra gives 2GB, 100 minutes and 100 texts for £19.31; on Pay as you go Plus, where you need an Extra to roam, a data-only version gives 2GB for £13.68. The 15-day Extra gives 4GB, 200 minutes and 200 texts for £30.84. An Extra starts when you buy it; once it ends or runs out, you can buy another (Vodafone global roaming).
Three
Three puts Morocco in Go Roam Around the World Extra, included in Three Your Way Complete taken out or upgraded since 22 June 2025. On other plans, a daily charge starts with your first call, text or data use and unlocks your UK allowance for 24 hours: £8 if you joined or upgraded from 18 December 2025 (charged since 1 April 2026), £7 if you joined or upgraded between 1 October 2021 and 17 December 2025 or you're on a 24-month SIM Only Lite plan (25GB or 120GB). Before October 2021, see Three's older price guides. Passes that unlock your allowance cost £17.50 for 3 days, £29.75 for 5, £42 for 7 and £84 for 14. Above 12GB of data a month abroad, a surcharge of 0.3p per MB applies if you still have UK data left (as of 26 October 2026, Three price guide, roaming abroad, Go Roam).
Three Pay As You Go doesn't include Morocco in Go Roam. Data costs £6 per MB. Three sets a worldwide data roaming limit of £45 excluding VAT (£54 including VAT) a month; you can ask Three to change or remove it (Three Pay As You Go price guide, Three data roaming limit).
Sky Mobile
Morocco is a Roaming Passport Plus destination: for £2 a day you use your UK plan. The pass starts automatically when you make a call, send a text or use more than 10MB of data in a day, but not when you receive a call. Above 25GB per billing period, data costs £2.50 per GB, and if your UK data runs out you can add 1GB for £6. Sky VIP Diamond customers get Free Global Roaming instead (as of 26 October 2026, Sky Mobile tariff guide, Roaming Passport Plus).
Tesco Mobile
Tesco Mobile puts Morocco in Region 4: data costs £5 per MB, with no roaming add-on. On pay monthly, your safety buffer, which you set between £0 and £100 a month, limits what you can spend on anything outside your allowance (as of 26 October 2026, Tesco Mobile roaming, Tesco Mobile safety buffer).
iD Mobile
Morocco is a Roam Beyond destination, where your UK allowance doesn't apply. Roam Beyond add-ons cost £5 for 2GB (1 day), £20 for 10GB (5 days) and £35 for 20GB (10 days). They start as soon as you buy them. Without an add-on, iD charges the standard roaming rates listed in its Rate Checker (as of 26 October 2026, Roam Beyond add-ons, iD roaming destinations, iD roaming charges).
SMARTY and VOXI
SMARTY charges 25p per MB in Morocco. No SMARTY plan includes it and there's no pass. Data, calls and texts outside the EU only work with an Out of plan balance, which you add in steps of £5, up to £15 (as of 26 October 2026, SMARTY rates in Morocco, SMARTY price guide).
VOXI charges 12p per MB in Morocco. Its Global Roaming Extras cover Morocco: 2GB, 100 minutes and 100 texts for 8 days at £16, or 4GB, 200 minutes and 200 texts for 15 days at £26.60. An Extra starts as soon as you buy it. You can buy another, but you lose what's left of the previous one (terms dated 30 July 2025, VOXI Global Roaming Extras, VOXI charges).
Lyca Mobile
Lyca Mobile Pay Monthly charges 30p per MB in Morocco, and its ROAM BOOST add-on gives 1GB for 30 days at £15. On Lyca Mobile Pay As You Go, Morocco 7 Days Roam gives 500MB for £8 and Morocco 14 Days Roam gives 1.25GB for £14; you can buy each up to five times in 30 days (as of 26 October 2026, Lyca Mobile roaming, Morocco 7 Days Roam).
giffgaff and Lebara
giffgaff puts Morocco in its Rest of the world list: your plan doesn't work there, and calls, texts and data come out of your credit. Morocco isn't one of the destinations with a giffgaff travel data add-on. giffgaff lists the rates for each country on giffgaff.com/roaming (giffgaff Rest of the world, giffgaff travel data add-ons).
Lebara sells roaming add-ons outside its Roam Like Home zone; check on lebara.co.uk whether one covers Morocco (Lebara roaming guide).
Mobile networks in Morocco
Morocco has three mobile networks: Maroc Telecom, Orange and inwi (International Trade Administration). Your UK SIM connects to one of them, but your UK network sets the price. For a Moroccan number, you buy a SIM card from one of them; inwi says registering the line with an ID document is mandatory under current regulations (inwi).
When an eSIM for Morocco makes sense, and when it doesn't
An eSIM is worth a look when your network charges a lot or gives little data: O2 Bolt Ons at £65 for 1GB, EE Pay As You Go add-ons counted in megabytes, £5 per MB at Tesco Mobile, or daily charges at Vodafone and Three on a longer trip. You install the eSIM at home, and it activates when it connects to a network in Morocco. You can get a refund within 14 days if it hasn't been activated, and every purchase earns 4% cashback in SimCoins. Your UK number stays on your usual SIM.
You don't need an eSIM from us if:
- You're on Three Your Way Complete: Morocco is included, within Three's fair use limit.
- You're with Sky Mobile, your trip is short and your UK data is enough: Roaming Passport Plus costs £2 a day.
- An iD Mobile Roam Beyond add-on or a VOXI Global Roaming Extra already fits your trip.
- You need a Moroccan phone number: our eSIM is data only, so buy a SIM card from Maroc Telecom, Orange or inwi.

On the ferry: turn data roaming off
On a ferry, your phone may connect to the ship's network, which UK networks charge separately (EE sells a Maritime Pass, and giffgaff lists ferries among non-terrestrial networks). Keep data roaming off on board until your phone shows a Moroccan network (EE price guide, giffgaff).
Roaming in Europe: what UK networks charge — if your trip also takes you through Spain or France
Step by step: pass or eSIM
- Check in your network's app whether your plan includes Morocco.
- Choose a pass or an eSIM. Buy EE passes, iD Mobile add-ons and VOXI or Vodafone Extras after you arrive.
- Install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi.
- On arrival, select the eSIM for mobile data, turn on its data roaming and turn data roaming off for your UK SIM.
- With Vodafone, Three or Sky, a call or text from your UK number can still start the daily charge. With no pass and no eSIM, keep data roaming off and use Wi-Fi.
