Removing an eSIM Safely
Read this first: a removed eSIM cannot be reinstalled. The profile is consumed. Only remove eSIMs that are expired or fully used — never one you have just bought and are trying to fix.
If an eSIM is not working, work through no data connection instead. Deleting it turns a settings problem into a lost purchase.
When It Is Safe to Remove
How to Remove
iPhone: Settings > Cellular > select the plan > Remove eSIM.
iPad: Settings > Cellular Data > select the plan > Remove Cellular Plan.
Android: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > select the eSIM > Erase eSIM.
Samsung: Settings > Connections > SIM manager > select the eSIM > Remove. If this fails on a Galaxy S22, see the known Samsung issue.
The Alternative to Removing
Turning a line off achieves almost the same result reversibly. An inactive eSIM uses no data and does not interfere with your other lines — and you can turn it back on.
